Regarding the repotentiating formula, the following has good success in helping people with digestive problems, CFS and constipation according to anecdotes received thus far. You should ask your physician if there are any contra-indications in utilizing such before using it. Some people get sufficient magnesium from other sources, and there is a possibility of magnesium intoxication from taking in too much. This is not a prescription, but represents a so-called "folk-remedy" for arthritis with tid-bits added on over time. One could eliminate the MgSO4 entirely and still derive benefit from it. The ginger is a very powerful source for plant proteases, which ounce for ounce is much richer than papaya in proteolytic enzymes, (about 2% of the plant, or 180 times the amount in papaya). One doesn't take very much, about a tablespoon in the morning will yield about half the amount of magnesium as one good dose of typical laxative doses. Read the label on the Epsom Salt carton for examples of typical dosages for constipation. Sea salt is added to slightly counteract the laxative effect, but also, electrolytes are the chief method of activating salivary (mouth) and intestinal amylase (pancreatic amylase or diastase).

You might also consider having your doctors order an hCG-Beta test periodically to determine the activity of malignant or metastasizing trophoblast(cytotrophoblast, cancer). The non-metastasizing trophoblast (syncytiotrophoblast, cancer) doesn't secrete this hormone, so the test does not prove one is out of the woods, but is a good way of monitoring along with other markers and symptoms one's progress. If your MDs are using a nutritional test like ALCAT, any lab capable of running that can do the human chorionic gonadotropin-Beta (carboxy-terminal-peptide) quantitative test as well. R.

The following is used as a Magnesium reconstitutive formula. Although the original formula was aimed at helping arthritis, it has other applications, principally, the activation of pancreatic zymogens. This is important, since cancer can inactivate the normal activators like enterokinase and previously secreted trypsin. Many researchers now recognize that magnesium deficiency in the USA is catastrophic (see http://www.execpc.com/~magnesum). The following formula helps reconstitute Mg, as well as chromium (another essential element with catstrophic deficiency amongst developed cultures). Every ingredient is important, but adjustable.

        Natural Enzyme Rebuilder Recipe -
        From Robert Cathey Research Site
        1. Lemon Juice - 1/2 Cup (~ 3 Lemons)
        2. Pineapple Juice Fresh - 1/2 Cup
2a. Grapefruit juice - 1/4 Cup (absorption factor, optional)
        3. Epsom Salts (MgSO4) - 1/4 Cup (2 Ounces)
3a. MSM - 1/4 tablespoon (Optional, for MS)
        4. Honey - 1/2 Cup Raw, Organic (warm)
        5. Ginger - Fresh, Grated - 4 Tablespoons
5a. Ginger, powdered - 3 Teaspoons (Optional, to reduce acid)
        6. Black Pepper - 1 Teaspoon (Chromium)
        7. Cardamon - 1/4 - 1 Teaspoon
            7a. Coriander - 1/4 - 1 Teaspoon
        8. Turmeric - 1/4 - 1 Teaspoon
        9. Sea Salt - 1/8 - 1/4 teaspoon
        10. Bee Pollen - 1/2 teaspoon (amino acids)
Powdered Cloves - 1/4 teaspoon (optional for parasites)

This is not a rigorous formula by any means, and can be varied to suit your subjective responses. If one has a problem with acidity, or canker sores, the medium can be an electrolyte or spring water, or wheat-grass. MSM has been noted to increase the absorption of Magnesium, so care should be taken to avoid magnesium intoxication, especially if grapefruit juice is used, which has been noted to increase the absorption of anti-biotics. It is unknown if this same mechanism operates for absorption of other factors.

Various people have added the supplemental digestive enzymes with every meal and one before bedtime (some clinical protocols call on up to 1000% increase of these enzymes), such as:

Vitase (Prevail 1-800-0885) Proteases I-IV, Amylase: 33,000 USP, etc.

Ultrazyme (Nature's Plus 1.800.525.0200) We tested this and the formula was very active digesting or "clotting" milk over a period of 2 weeks, and almost a gallon of milk.

Trizymes (Naturade 1.800.421.1830) This is the best value we've found for potency and quantity advertized, but we have not tested this.
